I moved the 'condition slider' back to 3/4 new. I used pianoteq 6 Steinway B 'distant mic' setting. Also they are all different instruments-I don't know what Apple used for their steinway model, and the Ebony grand is a fazioli, not a steinway. It is totally not a valid test in that yes it was just a midi file and there was no piano player reacting to the touch. It's not my present virtual piano choice, but maybe it will be if it continues to improve in the following years. More in topic: I continue not to like very much what I'm hearing from online demos of Pianoteq, but having followed it for at least 4 years (just playing the demo and listening to online demos) I can say I clearly hear the advancements. We have great Virtual instruments today, and some time they are convenient alternatives. I have a real '73 Rhodes too: Of course, the real thing has a special quality, but it's not easy to setup and play. My 'Rhodes replacement' favourites are the Scarbee Classic EP-88 (really great) and the new Soniccouture Canterbury for its versatility (different kind of sounds: Simply scroll the different presets, there are huge differences between them). I have Lounge Lizard, too, and I like it very much: It has an excellent playability (one of the best) and it has a lovely sound: I do not think of it as a Rhodes replacement, but just as a musical instrument with its own streghts and sonic physiognomy. I have the mojo 61, and I have to say that it is not my favourite Rhodes emulation: Perhaps my expectations on it were too high (excellent hammond emulation, instead). I use the epiano from my mojo61 (hardware).I think at the end is simply a matter of tastes, kind of sound we want to achieve, personal preferences, musical genre. Out of all of the models I’ve never really clicked with Pianoteq Rhodes, which is odd because I love everything else. Actually the higher velocity problem doesn't seem to be there as much in the Grotrian piano to my ears. For fun I demoed the other instruments again and found that I will definitely get the Grotrian Concert Royal next sale. Without making extensive comparisons I feel like the Rhodes emulation at least was sounding better. I own K2 & Steinway D, the electric keyboards and the Hohner package. Also rolling off some highs seems to work for some applications. My workaround is to set my velocity curve as to make it harder to reach the top velocity levels. I find there is still some improvement to do, mostly at high velocity levels as I find the realism is somewhat lost there. Pianoteq is my main piano plugin and I'm a big fan.

I appreciate the update and find it is an improvement, and totally worth the nice upgrade prize. Bought the upgrade and have been playing a few hours today.
